Welcome to the 2025/2026 School Year! 

Hi! I’m Mae Townsend, School Social Worker for Oak Grove High School and Oak Grove Middle School. My role is to help students be present, engaged, and successful by supporting attendance, family-school-community connections, and social–emotional needs. I collaborate with counselors, administrators, teachers, and community partners to make sure every student has what they need to learn.

What I Do

  • Advocate for children and families through agency and community partnerships

  • Attendance & Engagement: early outreach, problem-solving plans, home–school communication.

  • Basic Needs: food/clothing resources, housing instability (McKinney-Vento), transportation supports.

  • Crisis Response & Safety: coordinated support and connection to appropriate services.

  • Family Support: resource navigation, assistance with forms and benefits, community referrals, and workshops.
