         Driver’s Education       


Next Scheduled Classroom Session:


November 29 - December 16


Registration will open Monday, November 8 and close Friday, November 12. Payment ($65) will be accepted between Monday, November 15, through Thursday November 18. Students may pay in the front office at OGHS or through the School Cash Online App on the OGHS Website.

At this time, this class is scheduled to be a blended class, which means in a physical classroom

Monday - Friday and Online Zoom on 2 Saturdays December 4 and 11.

The class will begin in the Mornings Monday - Friday 6:00AM to 7:40AM and Saturdays from 8:00 to 12:00 noon on Zoom. Location of the classroom in school will be announced before class begins

Total class time will be 30 Hours.

We will announce the application open dates on the web site here and also make announcements about class dates, times and location.


The next Driver's Education Bookwork Class will be blended, in a physical classroom and online zoom instruction using Google Classroom. Students will use their Davidson County School student email account to access and complete all assignments. If you do not have a DCS email address, you will be issued a temporary one to use while in classroom. Please remember to read the links below (from your DCS Student Email Account) for the questions you may have regarding the Driver’s Education Program.


*****New Davidson County Schools Policy: The $65 Class Fee must be paid before the first day of class. Anyone who registers but has not paid the fee by this date will not be admitted in the class.*****



WHEN WILL I DRIVE? Students will be chosen for the driving portion of Driver's Ed after they have completed the classwork portion of the course. They are selected by age (oldest first). Eligibility Certificates are only good for 30 days, so students should not expect to drive more than 30 days before their 15th birthday.
