         Driver’s Education       


Next Scheduled Classroom Session:


September 12-30


Registration will open Monday, August 29, and close Friday, September 2 @ 3:00 pm. Payment ($65) will be accepted between Tuesday, September 6 through Friday, September 9 by 3:00 pm. Students or Parents may pay in the front office at OGHS by check or cash only. The School Cash Online Pay will be available to those who are enrolled at the High School only. 


The class will be for three weeks, Monday-Friday 6:00 am to 7:40 am and two Saturdays from 8:00 am - 12:00 noon. The location of the class will be communicated to those who are accepted into the class. Total class time will be 30 hours.

We will announce the application open dates on the website here and also make announcements about class dates, times,

and location.


The Driver's Education Bookwork Class will be in a physical classroom using Google Classroom. Students will use their Davidson County School student email account to access and complete all assignments. If you do not have a DCS email address, you will be issued a temporary one to use while in the classroom. Please remember to read the links below (from your DCS Student Email Account) for the questions you may have regarding the Driver’s Education Program.


*****New Davidson County Schools Policy: The $65 Class Fee must be paid before the deadline posted above. Anyone who registers but has not paid the fee by the date and time deadline posted will not be admitted to the class.*****



WHEN WILL I DRIVE? Students will be chosen for the driving portion of Driver's Ed after they have completed the classwork portion of the course. They are selected by age (oldest first). Eligibility Certificates are only good for 30 days, so students should not expect to drive more than 30 days before their 15th birthday.
