General Information:

  • Please note: The Final Exam and Instructional/Review Schedule is different than in previous years.

  • Buses will only run their normal morning and afternoon routes. NO bus transportation will be provided to high school students immediately following the end of an exam period.

  • If a student is EXEMPT from a Teacher-Made Exam, but needs to attend the afternoon review session, they may choose to report to school at 12:00, if they are able to arrange their own transportation.

  • If bus transportation is needed in order to be in attendance for the afternoon review session on a given day, then a student must ride the bus that morning. Any student who must do so will report to their regularly assigned class during the exam period.
  • Attendance:
    • Attendance WILL be taken during the morning exam sessions, and during the afternoon instructional/review session.
    • Exam Exemptions:  All students are eligible to be exempt from all course exams that are NOT required by the State Board of Education, if they meet final average and attendance requirements.  A copy of the Exam Exemption Policy for Davidson County Schools is listed on pages 15 and 16 of the OGHS Student Handbook.
    • In order to be eligible to exempt a Teacher-Made Exam, exam exemption status must be maintained through the end of the day on Friday, January 12.
    • Students not in attendance for an exam review session WILL be counted absent for that period.  If that absence puts a student over 8 absences, that student will NOT receive credit for that particular course.
    • If a student has earned an exam exemption in a given class, they are not required to attend either the instructional/review session for that exam, or the exam period for that particular class, during the week of January 16 – January 19.
    • Students who are working to achieve perfect attendance must attend school on exam days (even if they are exempt from the exam being given on that particular day).  Attendance will be taken in both the morning exam session and the afternoon instructional/review session.  A student must be present for 2/3 of the class (until at least 2:20) in order to be counted present for the afternoon session.
  • Please remember - Buses will NOT run until 3:00 each day.  Students may leave after an exam, provided that they have transportation home.  However, students who are not in attendance for the afternoon review session WILL be marked absent.  This absence will count towards a student’s overall number of absences, but will not jeopardize exam exemption status.
  • Students who need bus transportation on Friday, January 19 will receive further instructions regarding the afternoon schedule and classroom assignments prior to January 19.
