Next Scheduled Classroom Session:

 

June 12-22

 

Registration will open Monday, May 29, and close Thursday, June 1 @ 300 pm or whenever we get 60 students registered. We will accept the 1st 60 that register. Applications will close once we reach 60 students. Payment ($65) will be received between Monday, June 5, through Thursday, June 8, by 3:00 pm. Students or Parents may pay at the front office at OGHS by check or cash. School Cash Online Pay will only be available to those enrolled at the High School.

 

The class will be for two weeks, Monday-Thursday, 8:00 am to 12:00 noon. The location of the class will be communicated to those who are accepted into the class. Total class time will be 30 hours.

We will announce the application open dates on the website here and also make announcements about class dates, times,

and location.

 

The Driver's Education Bookwork Class will be in a physical classroom using Google Classroom. Students will access and complete all assignments using their Davidson County School email accounts. If you do not have a DCS email address, you will be issued a temporary one while in the classroom. During this class, students will use a Chrome book provided by the school to use during the class. Please read the links below (from your DCS Student Email Account) for your questions regarding the Driver’s Education Program.

 

To be eligible for this class, a student must be 15 on or before December 12, 2023

 

*****New Davidson County Schools Policy: The $65 Class Fee must be paid before the deadline posted above. Anyone who registers but has yet to pay the fee by the date and time deadline posted will not be admitted to the class.*****

 

WHEN WILL I DRIVE? Students will be chosen for the driving portion of Driver's Ed after completing the course's classwork portion. Eligibility Certificates are only good for 30 days, so students should not expect to drive more than 30 days before their 15th birthday.
